So today was pretty uneventful but definitely a good day haha. Started out by sleeping in until 8(yes I count that as sleeping in haha) then did some good Bible reading! Then I was off to school for band! woo! 3 hours of making my butt numb and my chops dead haha. I got some cheap japanese food with an awesome person, and since it was storming I spent some time chilling at her house. Then the story of my life:last minute plans! Decided to go to a Bible study, which turned out to be cancelled. So we ended up having a nice little heart to heart with some good friends, then off to chickfila for pondscum! (If you've never played that game please let me teach you!) Yeah, pretty decent day :)
Just a little bit of Katie Beck to spice up your boring everyday life :)

Lyrics day 2!
I Am a Friend of God(Israel Houghton)
"Who am I that you are mindful of me
That you hear me, when I call
Is it true that you are thinking of me
How you love me, it's amazing (Who am I Lord)
I am a friend of God..."
It never ceases to amaze me how big God is yet how he longs to have that friendship with me. He hears me when I call, and thinks of me, and loves me, even when I don't deserve it.
Lint on my pants..
So, its been pretty chilly on Sunday mornings the past few weeks. Therefore, I have decided to wear pants week after week instead of dresses to church on Sunday mornings. Not a problem, right? Wrong haha I rarely wear dress pants, and I really only have two pairs of GOOD comfy dress pants for church: my black pants and my khaki pants(which my awesome sister in law let me have). I also normally go home on the weekends to my parents..problem with that? For some reason when I'm rushing to get everything I need for the weekend before I go to early Friday morning class, I think "dress for church and dress pants in case its cold!" and I always go for the black pants instead of the khakis. Still don't see a problem? LINT. haha. I like with two cats and two dogs during the week, all who have primarily white hair..and shed. A lot. We have to vacuum at least every other day. Right after I wash my pants, they go straight to the drawer. But somehow, they are still covered in lint/fur by the time I get to my parents house/church on Sunday morning. So, I take a lint roller and roll away. 6 or 7 sheets later, I am lint free to look clean at church! Yay! but then of course I go home and by the time I'm done eating lunch, I am covered yet again.
Soo...that super long intro story means whaaa?
I was thinking today while doing my rolling duty in my moms office..this is the typical lukewarm Christians lifestyle. What do we do during the week? Stuff our Jesus pants in a drawer or to the side. We save our "dress" clothes for Sunday. We "prepare" our hearts for worship by rushing to get everything ready.. pretend we didn't gossip about so and so. Ask God to forgive us for being a bad friend to someone who needed Jesus' love shown through us. Forget about the little white lies we told our parents and act like they don't matter. Clean up our mouths. But there is leftover "lint" in our lives..so we clean the last bit up before walking into church. And what happens as soon as we sing the closing song and finish lunch with fellow churchies? The lints back on. We go right back to not living for God during the week..
That's my challenge to myself and my readers(all 3 of you haha but you can pass it on :) ) Don't just clean up for Sunday, stay lint free all week, every day, all day. Get in Gods word, and really be a light for Him to everyone around you. Yeah, we're all gonna mess up. But strive to be like Christ in your daily walk. See what difference it makes in your attitude and see how many people you can get to notice :)

No facebook for one month!
I've been praying a lot lately about facebook, and how much of my time it takes up when I could be studying Gods word, being a better friend to someone etc. And how tired I am of seeing all the drama and scandels based around facebook(grow up! haha) So, I finally (wo)man upped and deactivated it last night. Woo! First day of no fb: successful!
There's been a TON of things on my mind lately, but because of me spending time on fb too often, I haven't really sat down and blogged, which is such an awesome way to get things out of my system. And to just do. So I am now starting a month long blog game thing for myself(unless one of my other 5 followers wants to take part in it, also haha) along with actually blogging whenever I feel the need to.
The "game" is: Choose a song you hear on the radio at some point that day, and either take one lyric or the whole thing and say what it meant to you.
I've been hearing some awesome one liners almost everyday lately, so I might as well blog about them haha.
So for day 1!
I actually heard a ton of songs today that got to my heart. The lucky(or since I'm a Christian I should say blessed haha) winner is:
We Fall Down
"We fall down
and lay our crowns
At the feet of Jesus
The greatness of
Your Mercy and love
At the feet of Jesus
And we cry holy, holy, holy
And we cry holy, holy, holy
And we cry holy, holy, holy
Is the lamb"
How often do we sing common songs like this in worship at church/camp or while in our car when they come on the radio? A lot. How often do we actually take the lyrics, and not only think how awesome they are but actually apply them to our lives? Rarely.
Well, maybe I'm just talking about myself haha.
"we fall down, and lay our crowns at the feet of Jesus." What if I really FALL DOWN and lay my crowns, or in other words my blessings, rewards, happiness, etc, at His feet? What if daily I spent time in prayer? Not just in prayer but ON MY KNEES? Its amazing what happens in your heart when you actually fall down and praise God and pray. Its a truly humbling experience that is difficult to describe. And so often I do not lay my crowns at His feet.. "the greatness of Your mercy and love.." Gods mercy and love. Wow is the only word I have to describe that right now. And not only is it great all the time, but even greater when we lay everything at his feet!
"And we cry holy, holy, holy..." Holy. Holy. Holy. Separated. Separated. Separated. 3 times. In the times the Bible was written, there was no "all caps" or "bold font," so in order to emphasize something, it was to be more than once. "Holy Holy Holy" God is Holy, Holy, Holy. In modern times that would be HOLY!!!!! Shouldn't that take more meaning in our lives? What if we actually thought of God like that? What if we actually gave everything to Him at the altar? What if we actually fell down for Him and really meant it?
What if we stop saying what if and actually DO.

It's been awhile.
I haven't posted a blog in a long time, so I decided I'd go ahead and post one haha. I'm honestly not sure what to write..so bear with me. I don't know if this is going to be serious or funny. We'll see!
I'm sitting here watching The Bounty Hunter, and I'm very unimpressed. Not a bad plotline, but I really am tired of not being able to find a movie, or TV show, without inappropriateness. I've been very convicted the past few months about the things I let into my mind, especially TV and movies. I'm not totally sure if I'm being too strict on myself, but I'd rather be too strict than not strict enough. I've almost gotten to the point that when I hear a "bad" word, or a sexual innuendo, I immediately turn it off. I've never been a huge TV person, but I was into a few shows like Glee and The Secret Life of an American Teenager(which is a stupid show, anyway. I don't know why I thought it was so interesting back in the day), but more and more I see how shows like those are just wrapped up in Satan-ness. It didn't take long after I stopped watching those shows to not even have a want to watch them anymore. God works in funny ways haha.
What I'm REALLY tired of is that even Disney shows and Nick shows have all these hidden messages that you see more and more the older you get. It's a bit ridiculous I think. The world has gotten obsessed with sin and Satan is just ecstatic about it I'm sure. I recently heard a sermon about the Devil being REAL and more here than ever, waiting to attack, and boy oh boy was he(Clayton King) right!! I turn on TV and see a commercial break with women almost naked(Job 31:1-HATE IT STARVE IT OUTSMART IT) and bad words spewing out.. honestly? I can't even flip through channels during commercial breaks and find family-safe stuff. I'm scared to see what's gonna be out there by the time I have kids. They'll definitely be watching old movies all the time haha! Poor kids.
Anywho, just a little speal of mine that I've been meaning to get out of my head for awhile. I just looked up at a friend's TV right now and saw girls in bras and underwear and boys licking their stomachs to get a shotglass from in between their breasts. Wondeful, right? On the oh so popular show House. Oh boy...

Day 14:Non-fictional Book
I really don't know what to put.. I've read some really awesome theological books by awesome theologians like Clayton King, Voddie Baucham Jr, etc. But I have to narrow it down... so I will choose Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. This book, a long with all of his other books, is pretty amazing. It really describes Christianity and Jesus and how to be more than a "mere Christian." I would highly reccomend it to any Christian :)
